AudioTheme – A Story

Four score and over two years ago I started on a creation called AudioTheme. After successfully building a couple of audio centric WordPress themes for Press75.com and WordPress.com, I quickly concluded that building a WordPress theme geared towards bands, artist, and musicians was not an elegant process. While trying to keep features and functionality to only those offered in WordPress by default, I felt at times I was hacking a system that was really designed to do something else by nature; blogging and basic page management. Knowing WordPress harnessed greater powers in its content management capabilities, I wanted to streamline the process of creating audio centric themes from the design and development perspective to, more importantly, how content was managed from a users perspective. “Wrestling is going to be dropped from the 2020 Olympic Games. No other sport teaches young men, and now young women, discipline, self reliance, fitness, nutrition. The true meaning of, “your only hurting yourself”, never happens in any other sport more than it does in Wrestling. I got to tell you guys, this is a disaster. You have to understand where this reaches. If you take wrestling out of the Olympics, you’re effectively stripping it from College and High School. There is no Pro. There is no payoff to a wrestler. Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows, it’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life! But it ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep movin’ forward, how much you can take…and keep movin’ forward. Now, if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth! But you gotta be willing to take the hits. That’s how winning is done! And not pointin’ fingers sayin’ you ain’t where you wanna be because of him or her or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!

I’ve been listening to this band alot as of late. I was surprised to see the lead singer was a women, pretty rad! She is a classic case of the ol’ saying “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover”.

Ghostbusters: Revenge of the Ghost

I dug this puppy up from the archives. I created this short animation in/around 2002 as a college final project for a beginner 3D Studio Max class. I remember entering the computer lab at 9:00 PM when the last class of the day ended and I had access to the entire lab and all of it’s computers. I would spend all night creating animations, rendering sequences, and eating pizza. Usually around 9:00 AM the next morning I would leave the lab as the first class of the day was arrived. Rinse and repeat for an entire semester; good times. Watch out in 2022, you’ve been warned…

The White Buffalo

I’ve been a big fan of The White Buffalo for many years. I never really knew much more about him other than I really liked his music, in particular the power behind his voice. This video, from Carson Daily’s Last Call, really gives a great overview of who The White Buffalo is. The man is amazing.
